Electrical Designer/Project Manager for Buildings – Calgary

Job description:

  1. A degree in Electrical Engineer or Electrical Engineering Technology and with 5-7 years of experience in the field of Building Systems Electrical Design.
  2. Proficient operating knowledge of AutoCad is required. Operating knowledge of Revit is also preferred.
  3. Initiative and inclination to learn are essential.

Typical Duties

Typical duties will include but not limited to the preparation and/or modification of the following:

  1. Production of drafting projects primarily through either Revit, AutoCAD or other BIM collaboration software. Projects are generally of basic to intermediate levels of difficulty.
  2. Accountable for the quality of service on assigned projects.
  3. Site surveys and inspections on construction sites.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  1. Ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and parties.
  2. Contact with clients, vendor’s representative and project field personnel.
  3. Increase in the demonstration of knowledge of the application of electrical engineering.
  4. Perform assignments with instruction as to the general results expected, and with guidance from the Project Manager or Senior Designer on all project requirements.
  5. Participate in jobsite visits and client meetings.

Work Environmental & Physical Demands

The characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.

  1. Overtime may be necessary as workloads dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.
  2. Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may occasionally require travel to and visit a client’s office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.

Electrical Cad/Revit Operator – Calgary

Job Description

Drafting team member position requiring an increasing degree of independent decision making and a high level of professionalism. Proficient operating knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD is required for all essential functions and responsibilities on a project basis. Coordinates, and exercises functional authority for completion of assigned projects. Demonstrates increasing technical knowledge in drafting techniques and methods.

Typical Duties

Typical duties will include but not limited to the preparation and/or modification of the following:

  1. Ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all parties with limited supervision.
  2. Accountable for the quality of service on assigned projects.
  3. Occasional contact with clients, vendor’s representatives and project field personnel.
  4. Perform assignments with limited instruction regarding the results expected on unusual or complex problems.
  5. Keep the project manager informed of all circumstances that could affect projects or clients.
  6. Keep abreast of technological developments.
  7. Attend technical and professional society meetings and seminars.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  1. Provide effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all parties.
  2. Perform assignments with limited instruction regarding the results expected on unusual or complex problems.
  3. Keep abreast of latest technological developments within AutoCAD, REVIT and associated programs.
