Description

Completed in 2008, the Sheldon Chumir Health Centre is a new construction of an 8 storey,285,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art medical centre designed to meet the needs of Calgary’s inner city residents. This facility houses multiple clinics, incorporating three levels of underground parking, eight clinical floors and a unitized curtain wall system into its unique design. The centre provides services for urgent care, x-ray, community health, mental health and various other clinics and laboratories.
m+b was part of a major team including the Calgary Health Region to facilitate specific requirements for each unit and design electrical, IT voice and data communications, fire alarm,security and nurse call systems to suites. The 4000A, 277/480V service provides power for all the building lighting and power requirements with a 400KW Emergency Generator ready on back up.
